The role

We are looking for someone to take large scale onshore wind and solar projects from acquisition through construction and into operation. You will need to work autonomously and drive projects forward, identifying risks and addressing them timeously.

The ideal person to complement our project team will have strong experience in property matters, able to negotiate head of terms, options and leases, licences and wayleaves. Experience of the planning sector and discharging planning conditions will be a great advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review existing property agreements to identify key risks and use a robust process for managing obligations;
• Negotiate heads of terms for new property matters and take them forward rapidly to legal agreements;
• Work closely with landowners, agents and lawyers to progress agreements constructively and tactfully to ensure a successful outcome for the project as a whole;
• Establish and maintain good relations with landowners;
• Proactively manage planning condition obligations so they are addressed in line with project programme; and
• Identify and manage project risks and seek opportunities to add value.

What we’re looking for

• Applicants must have at least 5 years' experience of consenting, financing, constructing and operating onshore wind or solar projects in the UK;
• Enthusiasm for Ripple’s vision and a willingness to turn a hand to anything with confidence and calm;
• A degree in a field that contributes to the delivery of renewable energy projects;
• Excellent organisational skills to facilitate momentum on multiple fronts and maintain diligent records;
• A positive and collaborative approach that ensures stakeholders are engaged partners;
• Clarity and professionalism – the ability to articulate and present views in a clear and compelling way as an ambassador of Ripple;
• Ability to work and travel in the UK, with driving license.

The role can be based at one of our offices (Ayr or London) or at home, with a requirement for travel throughout the UK and potentially internationally. You must live in, and be able to work in, the UK.
