Job description
You will manage the assessment, acquisition, construction and operation of large scale wind farms and solar parks on behalf of cooperative societies and partners managed by Ripple.
The role is an incredible opportunity to apply solid experience to the whole spectrum of disciplines required to deliver renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Support colleagues in reviewing and modelling potential projects;
- Coordinate and negotiate tenders and appointments, achieving best value from competent parties;
- Proactively manage team to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget to the specified quality;
- Maintain good relations with stakeholders and ensure works are consistent with their agreements;
- Ensure contractors prepare adequate health and safety plans and carrying out their duties under CDM;
- Represent the interests of the coop and partners at all times;
- Be accountable for ensuring the project is constructed and operated in accordance with its planning consent;
- Challenge contractors' assumptions to ensure there are no unexpected costs or delays;
- Prepare and present reports on project status, risks and budget.
What we’re looking for
- Enthusiasm for Ripple’s vision and a willingness to turn a hand to anything with confidence and calm;
- At least 5 years' experience in the onshore wind or solar sector, engineering or site management with the ability to understand and interrogate land and construction contracts;
- A degree in an engineering discipline or demonstrable understanding of field;
- Knowledge of turbine supply agreements, balance of plant contracts, grid offers, PPA’s, property agreements, planning process and asset management contracts;
- Excellent organisational skills to facilitate momentum on multiple fronts and maintain diligent records;
- A positive and collaborative approach that ensures stakeholders are engaged partners;
- Clarity and professionalism – the ability to articulate and present views in a clear and compelling way as an ambassador of Ripple;
- Ability to work and travel in the UK
- Driving license would be an advantage

We are a small, inclusive and supportive team who rely on, as well as challenge, each other.
The role will be home based with a requirement for travel throughout the UK and potentially internationally.
